C'est bientôt Noël

Je regret...I left the battery of my camera at home...and today was a perfect day for photos!! School finished at midday today so Helen and I returned home for lunch. We had mince patties and string beans...the meat was so raw, I didn't eat it. I felt kinda bad but my host mother understood so it was ok. It's nearly Christmas and I'm so excited. At three o'clock, mom, helen and I went to centre ville de Moselle. There are so many Christmas markets and everything is so intriguing I just want to try them all:):) There were lots of food such as candied fruit, frog legs, snails, churro s..the markets were filled with everything Christmassy>.<
After that we went to a patisserie^^ Mum would absolutely loveeee France. The cakes were so intricate and beautiful but I forgot the battery for my camera =/ I had a cafe au lait and a pistachio mousse cake. The centre of the cake was made up of a pistachio sponge with a praline inside. It was then covered with pistachio mouse and glazed with chocolate ganache:):) The presentation was absolutely stunning. Pistachio flavoured macaroons adorned the petit gateaux and it sat in a golden foil plate. I promise the next time I go I'll remember my "whole" camera and take lots of photos!!
I just got chocolate on my new jumper grrr... We visited the cathedral of Moselle. There is so much history behind all the buildings in Metz, Je l'aime:)
Helen's cousin David is over at the moment. He had dinner with us but he hasn't spoken to me..in fact hardly anyone speaks to me except my host family. Everyone is afraid to speak to me because they think their english is really bad? but I actually want them to speak to me in French...well..I hope they'll speak to me soon...it would be nice to not just sit in class staring aimlessly or drawing till my brain runs out of ideas...
Is it possible to still be jet lagged after 5 days? I get so tired... and my head hurts from concentrating..
grosses bises

Bonjour:):)

Im really excited in creating my first blog despite being technologically challenged. My sister's boyfriend and I were really bored so we decided to make paper aeroplanes(hence the name).

I was meant to start my blog a week before i even went to France haha.. :) I'm here now and I'm extremely happy and excited for the "adventures" I will have every day^^ The food over here is amaaaazzzzzinggg. Everyday my host mother attempts to make different food from all the different regions of France so that I can try everything, which is awesome. My host sister Helen is singing all the words to the Lion King at the moment naw I love her =3

Ma maison

Although the dad Philipe can be quite intimidating he's actually really funny..well everyone seems to rofl when he speaks..I just happen to not understand anything he says but today it was so nice of him to tune the guitar for me:):) I knew it was sharp, but I have no idea on how to tune a guitar..hopefully when I get back to Australia I'll be pro and maybe I"ll even show off my skills to my former teacher Rowan;]

Caroline et Helen

Richard is such a funny kid and he's uber smart!..however he doesn't work very hard parce-que il detest L'ecole...don't we all...

Today (which would be my fifth day in france) I had to wake up at 6.30 because Helen had a sport exam for Swimming. Swimming is now finished and apparently Dance Dance Revolution is a sport in France???? I laughed so hard when Helen told me..

After that we had one hour of history then I went home at lunch time with Richard. Helen started her exams today and she'll take them every wednesday.

Richard

So it was just me and Richard for the rest of the day. I wanted to take photos of the town so he took me for a walk except the sun was no where to be seen so not many of the photos look that great. We walked in mud to their grandparent's house(I really hope I didn't ruin my sister's shoes:S). I love it when we go to the Grandparent's house or when they come over because they always have a stash of confectionary for us..although.. I really should decrease my sugar intake..

Richard at work with his lego films^^

Grandmere

It's late. I should sleep. I have to wake up at 6.30 again...ooh and I met a Chuck Bass yesterday, scarf and all:)

I miss you guys. Skype me!!
